HOW TO BECOME A COACH AT ACE
Becoming a coach can be an interesting and rewarding experience for a parent that wants to become involved in their child's sport. Irrespective of your past Football experience, ACE has a support structure to guide first time coaches in the right direction. All first time parents who volunteer to coach a team will go through an induction process at the club.
The first step is participation in the club’s organised Grass Roots Course. This course is run by Football Queensland at our facilities by experience coaches who will provide you the skills to start coaching your team. ACE will also provide an outline of the objectives you are looking to achieve as a coach. We also encourage our coaches to participate and obtain their junior license. We try to hold a license course at the club for all new coaches and the club will financially assist you in this initiative.
ACE also provides coaches a library of coaching videos and online coaching drills, videos and technical references. As a coach you have the opportunity of joining our Coaches Forum which allows you to receive hints and tips from other coaches within the club. You will also be invited to participate in a number of demonstration sessions where experienced coaches provide information in a helpful manner to new coaches.
ACE has 5 Directors of Coaching which are available to assist, guide and support you as necessary during the season. For experienced coaches, ACE provides financial incentives for coaches to advance their skills and obtain their Youth License. We provide a few dates during the year where coaches have the opportunity to attend this course.
We encourage all coaches to obtain their blue card and our company secretary can assist you in the preparation of forms and lodging the forms. Basically we try our best to make the experience as easy and pleasant as possible. We encourage parents to consider this opportunity to be part of your child's sport. We also encouarge experienced coaches and past players to give something back to the sport by supporting the development of Junior and Senior players.
